This Page only affect coaches in the Macaw Region Dear Region 4 Colleagues & Members of the FFL Board of Directors, The nomination period to fill the Macaw Regional Director vacancy expired at 5:00 pm today (Monday, 9/12). Several coaches submitted nominations, but all were for the same person! Therefore, I am pleased to announce that PAUL GABA of Wellington HS is the new Macaw Director. Paul begins immediately and will serve out the remainder of the term, which ends on June 1, 2006. I have added Paul to the Board of Directors distribution list, and Kathi will update the FFL website with Paul's contact information. Thanks, Jason
Previous Message: Macaw Region Coaches, I hope that all of you have recovered from the time you lost at school last week because of the hurricane. I delayed this issue a couple of days to give you a little time to get settled in again at school. As previously announced, your Regional Director submitted her resignation to me on Friday, August 19. Under the bylaws of the league, we now need to hold a special election to determine her replacement for the remainder of her term, which ends on June 01, 2006 (see Article V, Section V on page 10 for details--available at: http://www.floridaforensics.org/04-05_FFL_Inc_Governing_Documents_November_1_2004.pdf). I will begin accepting nominations for this position tomorrow (Thurs., September 1). Nominations will close at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 12. To submit a nomination, simply email me (wysongj@trinityprep.org). I will then contact your nominee. Self-nominations are welcome. If more than two qualified candidates are nominated and accept, an election will be held in conjunction with the league-wide vote on changes to rules for 2005-2006 (currently scheduled for late September). If an election is necessary, each candidate will be able to submit a 250-word statement for distribution to member schools in your region. Please find below a description of the position responsibilities. Remember that the most important function of the Regional Director is to host and run the regional qualifying tournament for your area.
