General Tournament Information

Florida is one of the few states that offer a statewide novice-specific championship tournament. This tournament is open to students from member schools who qualify as "Novice" under the guidelines set by the League. It is a large, "open" tournament that determines the NOVICE CHAMPION in each FFL event. High school juniors and seniors with 250 or more NFL points may judge at this event.

Note that, for purposes of this tournament, a "novice" is defined as a student in grades 6-12 who had fewer than 25 NFL points at the start of the current school year, competed in less than three (3) tournaments in the previous school year, AND has never competed at Novice State.
