FLORIDA
COUNCIL OF LEAGUE PRESIDENTS
General Description
The Florida Council of League Presidents is a standing committee of Florida Forensic League, Inc. This group is charged with examining the status of forensics throughout the state. Specifically, the committee identifies common problems or challenges and looks for ways to alleviate or solve them.
Committee Membership & Limitations
The following text is taken from Article VII, Section III of the bylaws of Florida Forensic League, Inc.:
A. The Florida Council of League Presidents shall include the Regional Director from each Region of the League, the Chairperson of each NFL district, the President of each CFL diocese in Florida and the President of the League. In the event that one of the above persons is unable or unwilling to serve, he/she shall appoint another officer from his/her organization to serve in that capacity.
B. The council will elect a Chairperson once each year from within its own membership.
C. The council shall convene as necessary, but at least twice each year, to identify common concerns of the Florida forensics community and recommend solutions to those concerns. Meetings shall be scheduled so as to include as many members of the council as possible. The quorum for a meeting of the council shall be the members present at one of its meetings.
D. Expenses of council members traveling to those meetings shall be assumed by the district and/or league they represent.
E. The council shall have no authority to require the implementation of its recommendations, nor shall this committee’s operation be interpreted as the assertion of the League as a governing body over other forensic organizations/leagues in Florida.
