The mission of the Florida Forensic League is to provide students in secondary schools with opportunities to develop their communication, argumentation, and leadership skills through their participation in curricular and co-curricular educational and competitive events. Central to the accomplishment of this mission is the provision of instructional and organizational support for coaches and other adults who teach these skills to students through speech and debate programs in schools.

RECENT NEWS

July 1, 2010: The 2011 Florida Forensic League Novice State Championship Tournament will take place the weekend of May 6-8 at Celebration High School in Orlando.

June 9, 2010: The 2010 FFL Summer Meeting will take place at Wellington High School on Tuesday, July 13, with an additional date (Wednesday, July 13) added "just in case" coaches need more time to discuss agenda items for the fall meeting and vote, to work on Pro/Con statements, and wording for any proposed changes (should they pass). Please email FFL President Carol Cecil any agenda items you may have for the Summer Meeting - and a rationale behind those proposed changes if you will be unable to be in attendance at the July meeting at Wellington High School. FYI, the Fall Meeting will be on Saturday, August 21, 2010 (location has yet to be determined). The Fall Meeting is where the group will vote on whether these changes are placed on the Fall Ballot. Our hope is to have the Fall Ballot up at the same time as the Membership Drive, which is scheduled to open on September 1, 2010, on Joy of Tournaments.
